Is this the first time BINGO organizes such trips?

NO. TIP/NUS BINGO North American Summer Business Trip 2009 (NASBT09) is the 8th trip organized by us. Prior to this trip, we have organized China Business Trip of December 2005, Indonesia Business Trip of May 2006, Mekong Business Trip of December 2006, India Business Trip of July 2007, Middle East Business Trip of December 2007, China Business Trip of May 2008 and Winter Business Trip of December 2008.

What is the difference between my normal holiday trips and the business trips you are organizing?

Our trips give the participants a chance to visit many companies and to meet up with the founders of the companies to learn from them their experiences in setting up their businesses. In addition, unlike normal travelling, not only will you have sightseeing chances, you will be visiting the local universities and interact with their students too. Most importantly, it will be a good learning experience as the participants will be involved in the planning of the trip.

Can we still go for NOC, SEP, Industrial attachment?

Yes. Participating in the Business Trip will not affect your chances to apply for NOC, SEP, IA.

When do we make the payment?

All participants need to make the full payment before departure.The budget for this 28-day trip includes transportation, accommodation, tickets to places of interest, and some living expenses. This amount is before sponsorship. After confirming sponsorship, we will refund you the money once we are back from the trip. (The sponsorship offer is only for NUS undergraduates, including final year students. Exchange and graduate students need to pay the full fee for the trip.)

How many people will be selected for the trip and is there restriction on nationalities?

A Delegation Team of 24 (including a NUS supervisor) will be chosen and participate in the trip. There are no restrictions of the age, nationality, faculty/school, course of study and year of study. All the NUS students including undergraduates (including first year and final year students), graduate and exchange students are eligible to apply for the trip. There is no restriction for students’ nationalities.
